Baptism at St Elizabeth's
The Church joyfully celebrates the arrival of your new child, a precious creation in the image and likeness of God. Baptism is a joyful occasion for your family and our Parish family to give thanks and celebrate the gift of faith you are bestowing upon your child.
Baptisms can usually take place on a day and at a time of your choice, including during one of our Sunday Masses or shortly after our 10.30 Mass.
As parents, you are bestowed with the profound privilege and responsibility to nurture your child’s growth in the knowledge and love of God. During the baptism, parents and godparents will make vows on behalf of themselves and the child. To prepare for this significant commitment, the Parish requires parents to attend a Baptism Preparation Course. These sessions, which are also open to godparents, generally take place on Saturday mornings in Hexham and last approximately 90 minutes
